Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Here we go again!

This time last year our down-stairs was rearranged to accommodate the new floor. This year we rearranged the whole house( actually about 75%) so that the carpets could be cleaned! The whole up-stairs and our family room and computer room had most of the furniture moved. The cleaners did the high traffic  areas and any stains we had.

Most of my room and Jacqueline's ended up in the dining room.

This is our bathroom. That is my dresser in the back!  The crates are Jacqueline's bookcase.

 The sewing / school room.

I love this picture, even though it is a little blurry. That is my chair with a basket of Jacqueline's stuffed animals in it, my table with Jacqueline's rug on top of it and Jacqueline's guitar in the front.

Thankfully everything is almost back to normal and back in place.

New Furniture!

In late November, I ordered a chair and a complimentary side table from L.L. Bean. The chair got here in early December and the table was supposed to come soon after. However, paperwork got misplaced and so the table took a lot longer. But on Tuesday the UPS man delivered my table! They are both beautiful and look very well together.

I placed the chair under one of my windows and set the table next to it. I have some large coffee-table books that have been taking up space in my bookcase stacked on the bottom shelf of my table and a dish shaped like a fish with a lot of seashells in it on top. I have a lamp and pencil jar on top and plenty of space for all the books I am reading too.

A blanket that I had been working on and and old pillow go in the chair (the Tiger is a present from Cecile; She loves sleeping in that chair) .

The pictures above the chair are my favorites. They look like a paintings of two shelves with baskets of shells, beautiful blue hydrangeas, old bottles,a wood sandpiper statue and a model boat.

Now I have a really nice place to curl up and read or write !

The Great Fall Clean-up

Now that fall is right around the corner, we have been doing some clean up.

Dad has spent every evening this week triming bushes.

Mom has been battling the deer for control of our fruit trees.  They are supposed to bear fruit next summer/fall but some how I don't think that will happen.  Dad starting built a grape arbor for Mom two weeks ago. He has to finish this one and build another.  Then a fence will need to be built. Hopefully that will keep the deer away!

Another project in the making is our pool. The liner has started to pull away from the pool, creating big pockets of air, and it has a leak. The concrete around the pool is cracked.  So starting in January, we should start working on the pool, tearing up the concrete, replacing the liner, etc... For now though it is just an empty hole.

Hope that wherever you are, you are having cooler weather then here. The high for today is 83 degrees . Ugh..
