Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Blow, Blow Thou Winter Wind

Blow, Blow Thou Winter Wind~ William Shakespeare

Blow, blow, thou winter wind

Thou art not so unkind

As man's ingratitude;

Thy tooth is not so keen,
Because thou art not seen,
Although thy breath be rude.

Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly:
Most friendship if feigning, most loving mere folly:
Then heigh-ho, the holly!
This life is most jolly.

Freeze, freeze thou bitter sky,
That does not bite so nigh
As benefits forgot:
Though thou the waters warp,
Thy sting is not so sharp
As a friend remembered not.

Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly:
Most friendship if feigning, most loving mere folly:
Then heigh-ho, the holly!
This life is most jolly.

Sunshine and Falling Leaves...

means Autumn is making an early appearance!  In the 7 years we have lived here, I think that this is the earliest that it has ever started to cool off ! The temperature was in the high 70's with mid-low humidity! Maybe this means I can start wearing my favorite sweaters soon.

Babies!

If you look carefully out the two tiny windows next to our front door, you might see something that looks like this...

The nest of an Eastern Phoebe with three baby birds! They are fairly big, big enough to crowd each other in that tiny nest.Their eyes are open and we can watch them preening themselves sometimes.

Definitely one of my favorite things about spring..baby birds!

Spring Prayer
Ralph Waldo Emerson

For flowers that bloom about our feet;
For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet;
For song of bird, and hum of bee;
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee!

For blue of stream and blue of sky;
For pleasant shade of branched high;
For fragrant air and cooling breeze;
For beauty of the blooming trees,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee!
